Extend Internet to Third Building

A small business customer asked for help improving Internet connectivity for a recently built canopy used for outdoor events. Poor WiFi connectivity dashed their dreams of music and video streaming.

The most cost effective solution was to add a radio bridge to an existing Point to Multipoint system to provde reliable Internet access via Ethernet cables and Wifi Access point.

The first step required the removal of a WiFi repeater that could not connect reliably to the guest WiFi in an ajacent building. Using a Ubiquiti airMAX NanoStation 5AC to connect to the existing Ubiquiti Rocket 5AC Prism on the main building provided the building to building connection. A Ubiquiti USW-Flex Ethernet switch in a Ubiquiti Flex Utility outdoor enclosure prvoides power and wired Ethernet connectivity to the Ubiquiti airMAX NanoStation 5AC and Ubiquiti UAP-AC-M outdoor access point. The Ubiquiti USW-Flex Ethernet switch allso provides wired Ethernet connectivity for two smart TVs.

Final result is reliable Internet access for WiFi, streaming audio & video for the canopy.

Extend Internet to Second Building

A small business customer asked for Internet connectivity in a second building on the property to provide reliable access for an Internet connected jukebox that customers could search for music not currently loaded in the jukebox and download it.

The most cost effective solution was a radio bridge between the buildings.

An EdgeRouter PoE 5 that was previously installed in the main building on the property had an available port. Connecting a Ubiquiti Rocket 5AC Prism radio with a AMO-5G10 omni-directional antenna to the port and mounting it on the roof of the main building provided for multiple concurrent wireless connections from anywhere on the property. A NanoStation M5 mounted to the second building approximately 1000 feet away connected to a managed 8-Port EdgeSwitch PoE provides wired Internet access to the jukebox and a UniFi AP AC PRO access point that provide business and guest WiFi access in the second building.

Dissatisfied with current WiFi

A small business customer connected a residential WiFi router to a cable Internet connection in an attempt to connect an office computer, printer, and provide guest WiFi access. The computer and printer worked well but the WiFi did not reach very far into the building beyond the office walls.

Replacing the residential class Linksys E1200 N300 WiFi router with a business class Ubiquiti EdgeRouter PoE5 and UniFi AP AC Pro access point provided business and guest WiFi to all corners of the building.
